Division Information

PACCAR’s Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

The Role

PACCAR is looking for a data engineer to join the team. Data Engineering focuses on making possible fast, accurate, and reliable access to data. We build data pipelines, manage a data lake, and support the production use of our data. We advocate for leading data practices and make sure that our business users can make data driven decisions.

The Team

As a Data Engineer, you will work with a highly celebrative team of data engineers with different backgrounds. This data engineering team focuses on solving PACCAR’s most important challenges by making data available to our data science and analytics teams. As part of a diversified global Fortune 500 company, the data engineering team works on a huge variety of projects, from building data ingestion pipelines to data quality products, data integration services and data platforms. Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Build and support batch and streaming data pipelines from a wide range of data source.

  • Working on ways to automated and improve development and release processes.

  • Contribute to overall architecture, framework, and design patterns to store and process high data volumes.

  • Develop solutions to measure, improve, and monitor data quality based on business requirements.

  • Proactively support product health by building solutions that are automated, scalable, and sustainable – be relentlessly focused on minimizing defects and technical debt.

  • Provide post-implementation production support for data pipelines.

    Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in a data engineering role.

  • 4+ years of experience with Cloud and related services (e.g., AWS, Google, Snowflake).

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and techniques such as Apache Airflow and Stream processing.

  • Strong understanding of Python and libraries such as Pandas, Flask, and Boto3.

  • Knowledge of and experience with RDBMS platforms, such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Postgres.

  • Experience participating in projects in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline team environment.

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field required.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science preferred.

    Physical Demands

  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.

  • Lifting up to 55 pounds.

  • Team lifting large objects such as servers using lifting equipment.

We carefully consider numerous compensation factors, including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Data Engineer is $110,600 - $173,000 annually. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above. Additionally, this role is eligible for a full range of benefit options listed above.
