*Title: *Cafe Worker *Job Overview: *The primary focus of this position is to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction concerning all aspects of retail food service. This includes, but is not limited to: interaction with customers to obtain food orders; serving foods; replenishing supplies/foods at serving stations; produces quality beverages (lattes, etc.) for customers; using cash registers or calculators to prepare bill totals for food; and accepting of payment and making correct change for all food purchases. *Role: *See job description for Service Partner for generic job description. *Area of Assignment: *Food Management and Nutrition Services (FMNS) Department *Hours of Work: *Varies depending on shift. *Responsible to: *Retail Manager

The primary focus of this position is to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction concerning all aspects of retail food service. This includes but is not limited to: interaction with customers to obtain food orders; serving foods; replenishing supplies/foods at serving stations; produces quality beverages (lattes, etc.) for customers; using cash registers or calculators to prepare bill totals for food; and accepting of payment and making correct change for all food purchases.

PREREQUISITES:

  1. Must have current Washington State Food Handler's permit.

  2. High school diploma or GED certification preferred.

  3. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  4. Able to work on weekends and holidays.

  5. Able to meet the professional appearance standards of the organization.

  6. One to two years of food service experience preferred.

  7. Prior experience working as a Barista preferred.

  8. One year of experience in cash handling to include tending cash and balancing cash drawer preferred.

     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in a diverse population.

  2. Demonstrates ability to work independently.

  3. Able to communicate and work effectively with the physical and emotional developments of all age groups.

  4. Demonstrates experience in providing excellent customer service.

  5. Demonstrates basic knowledge of working a computer (for on-line training, etc.).

     

UNIQUE PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to push, pull, and lift loads of 50 pounds or more (i.e. able to wheel a cart, with loads weighing up to 250 pounds; CO2 canisters weighing 50 lbs; sanitation buckets weighing 20 lbs.).<
