PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $33.17-$40.53 hourly. The full Pay Range is $25.77-$47.93 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Vendor Risk Specialist at BECU, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our vendor relationships remain secure, compliant, and aligned with our organizational goals. You will assess the internal controls of our vendors, contributing directly to BECU’s operational stability and security. Your expertise will help identify potential risks and areas of improvement, providing BECU with the insights needed to maintain strong, effective vendor partnerships. Through your collaborative efforts, you’ll help ensure that our vendors meet performance standards, while also growing your skills in risk assessment and management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Administer Vendor Risk Assessments : You’ll utilize BECU’s vendor risk management framework to scope and complete basic vendor risk assessments, ensuring our partners meet compliance and performance standards.

  • Gather and Analyze Vendor Data : You’ll collect essential due diligence information from current and potential vendors, evaluate internal controls, and compile comprehensive risk summary reports.

  • Facilitate Risk Mitigation Plans : You’ll assist in developing and tracking remediation efforts, working closely with internal stakeholders to mitigate vendor-related risks.

  • Support Vendor Intake Process : You’ll collaborate with business units to complete risk questionnaires, secure NDAs, and maintain accurate records using Archer.

  • Contribute to Vendor Selection : Your skills will be key in evaluating vendor responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring BECU selects the most capable partners.

  • Coordinate Vendor Risk Documentation : You’ll manage the completion and distribution of key vendor assessment documents, such as SOC report CUECs and Financial Dialogue Questionnaires.

  • Build Collaborative Relationships : Your role will include fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to manage and improve vendor risk postures effectively.

  • Enhance Vendor Processes : You’ll work with internal stakeholders and the Vendor Management team to improve vendor processes and controls, ensuring alignment with BECU’s goals.

  • Track and Report Vendor Performance : You’ll monitor vendor performance and provide detailed reports on risk assessments, ratings, and ongoing monitoring efforts for leadership.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Staying informed of industry regulations, you’ll gather necessary documents and information for regulatory examinations and inquiries to maintain compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant functional experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in vendor management, research, and report formatting.

  • Familiarity with risk assessment concepts and disciplines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

  • Proven ability to create reports and monitor vendor performance.
