The Hartford’s Corporate Finance IT team has an opportunity you to build on your career as a Technology Business Management Administrator. In this role, you will help align our financial cost management approaches with the Apptio Suite of tools (Cost Transparency, Benchmarking, Data Link etc.) to deliver IT financial insight and reporting and contribute to Agile Transformation Agenda.
This position operates in a rapidly changing environment and requires a self-starter with excellent time management and adaptability. A successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguous situations, create process enhancements that address short term needs while moving us closer to long-term vision. The candidate should also demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to reporting accuracy and detail.

Experience with IT Financials a desired, including: capitalization, outlook (forecast) locks, Full Year Outlook vs. budget, run vs. invest, etc.
Experience with and/or interest in developing a proficiency with the Apptio tool (Cost Transparency, Benchmarking, and the Studio tool for TBMAs), as well as the Integration layer, the inputs, the outputs.

Apptio Cost Transparency and Benchmarking
Evaluate business process flows for efficiency, cost and other key performance metrics to implement meaningful configurations & solutions Create data-mapping and traceability documentation to build efficient solutions for interfacing applications aligned to IT Service Costing capability
Work with the IT Finance and development organization to channel client feedback and solutions into future releases of the Hartford’s Apptio solution.
Provide day to day operational support for the Apptio platform including production oversight, root cause analytical support and analysis/communication of vendor releases.
Deliver prioritized Apptio reporting data sources and UI enhancements and capabilities for the IT Financials Apptio Platform working closely with the persistent team and business community.
Assist broader team with design, implementation, and rollout for IT Financials across the CIO organization, leveraging cost and outlook data consumed by Apptio
Provide support for UAT, Change Management and the rollout of new capabilities.
Review and input into Change Management / Communication related to application support related materials
Support Internal Audit reviews, assessing audit findings and providing responses on a timely basis
Collaborate with our business partners in assessing vendor release change impacts
Agile Alignment – Financial Design/Build/Rollout
Help design, build, and rollout - first as a production pilot, then as a migration for all LOBs – the agile alignment of IT agile team financials.
Assist with all prioritization of enhancements / defect fixes to Apptio in an agile scrum model
Assist Apptio Scrum team in operating in an agile cadence (backlog in Rally, sprint cycles, interacting with stakeholders, prioritization of work)
Apply Agile understanding to support Agile Value Stream funding approach into Apptio cost models and dashboards
Learn and support rapid software configuration, testing and deployment using Scrum, Kanban, DevOps and Cloud
Bachelor degree in in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias. CPA or MBA highly valued
4+ years of relevant work experience in technology business management, finance, accounting or related field is preferred.
Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) taxonomy, PeopleSoft Financials, Apptio, Tableau is a plus
Software (especially SaaS) configuration experience. Apptio experience desired
Strong financial acumen and knowledge of IT financial management practices
Agile experience in lean portfolio management
Executive report and dashboard design, SQL / SSRS, KPIs, etc.
Business Data Analysis and/or Data Engineer competencies
Experience with data dictionaries, data analysis and relational databases.
Skilled at working with large data sets, quickly detecting and resolving data-related issues.
Skilled at completing technical design via iterative mockups.
Prefer familiarity with emerging data centric technologies such as data virtualization and utilization of data wrangling technologies
Experience with data quality products such as PowerDesigner, DataFlux, Trillium, Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion, SAS, Informatica desired.
Basic programming skills and data analytics e.g. HTML, SQL, Excel, Access, Business Objects, Oracle and Python etc.
