PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $162,600.00-$198,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $126,000.00 - $235,100.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

In this pivotal role as a Staff Solutions Architect specializing in data and data warehouse architecture, you’ll be the driving force behind crafting and implementing innovative technology solutions that align seamlessly with business goals. Your expertise will shape the technical blueprints and inspire a talented team of Solutions Architects. You'll mold our technological landscape, integrating emerging trends and technologies into strategic opportunities, and ensuring these solutions are scalable, reliable, and adhere to industry standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead Solution Development: Design and implement technology solutions that align with BECU’s business objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Guide and Mentor: Provide mentorship and technical expertise to Solutions Architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Manage Complex Projects: Oversee multiple solution development efforts simultaneously, ensuring that all projects meet their objectives and adhere to architectural standards.

  • Establish Architectural Standards: Define and manage domain-specific architecture standards, processes, and constraints to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization.

  • Drive Strategic Discussions: Collaborate with stakeholders to explore the business capability landscape and identify opportunities for long-term value creation.

  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work with Enterprise Architects and other stakeholders to address domain-specific challenges, reduce architectural design debt, and champion technological innovations.

  • Evaluate Third-Party Platforms: Review and recommend third-party software platforms that align with BECU’s strategic objectives.

  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, leveraging these insights to drive innovation and technological improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience designing and implementing technology architectures, including managing the delivery of multiple complex solutions simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud-native technology, including microservice architecture, RESTful APIs, scalable designs, and digital platforms.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of technologies and supplier capabilities, with experience integrating these into large infrastructure/systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of modern technology service architectures, including hosting, security, and risk management concerns (IAM, access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and containers).

  • Familiarity with Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

  • Deep understanding and experience with Lean/Agile/Scrum methodologies, including scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe.

  • Knowledge of industry trends, value propositions, and best practices for technology relevant to in-scope capabilities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing data and analytics solutions using technologies such as Snowflake, Cosmos DB, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

  • Certification in LEAN, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL principles, with a proven track record of implementing one or more of these practices.

  • Working knowledge of architectural frameworks such as The Open Group, NIST, ISO 19xxx, BizBok, or Gartner.

  • Experience in evaluating and recommending third-party software platforms.

  • Proven experience building strong relationships across organizational hierarchies.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and provide exceptional customer service.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly and persuasively.
