PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $75,900.00-$92,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $59,000.00 - $109,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

The Retail Market Development Specialist is instrumental in driving new memberships and deposit and credit product sales for BECU. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality sales and service experiences for both new and existing members. This role involves extensive community engagement, event participation, and collaboration with various departments to enhance BECU's market presence and relationships.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Product Knowledge and Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of BECU products, services, policies, and procedures.

  • Understand state and federal consumer lending and deposit regulations.

  • Comply with Safe Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Relationship and Partnership Building

  • Develop and nurture partnerships with internal partners, community members, leaders, and business entities.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department and Community Educators to develop promotional materials.

Community and Event Engagement

  • Represent BECU at corporate and community events professionally.

  • Oversee regional business-to-business outreach campaigns.

  • Coordinate community events, on-site visits, and seminars, including logistics and follow-ups.

  • Develop tailored collateral for different community demographics.

Marketing and Social Media

  • Assist in managing BECU’s social media presence across platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

  • Serve as a point of contact for marketing project requests from assigned branches.

  • Collaborate with communities and strategic partners to deliver financial education.

Operational Management

  • Manage and maintain Retail Market Development assets.

  • Handle vendor and partner company relationships.

  • Ensure proper storage and organization of marketing materials.

  • Manage event contracts and partner with Vendor Management to comply with policies.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Create and distribute reports on event performance and community involvement.

  • Update the Retail Market Development SharePoint Calendar with community involvement opportunities.

Leadership and Additional Duties

  • Provide process expertise and support for marketing campaigns.

  • Serve as a brand ambassador at events and networking functions.

  • Recommend workflow improvements for responsive and efficient service delivery.

  • Full-time hours required including weekends during scheduled events. Additional hours may be necessaryto accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or Communications or equivalent work or educational experience required.

  • Minimum three years of business development or consultative sales experience required.

  • Must be a licensed driver with ability to travel up to 50% of the time within a local region.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Financial services sales experience preferred.

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

  • Marketing project management experience in a collaborative business environment and familiarity with event contract negotiations. Demonstrated understanding of the sales process and managing a sales pipeline efficiently.

  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise and professional manner to a diverse and complex audiences and in a wide variety of communication mediums.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences, comfort with public speaking.

  • Excellent PC skills with a proficiency in many programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead/motivate, build and maintain networks.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work with regular and changing deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
