Caris Life Sciences Oncologic Pathologist in Remote, Washington
Position Summary
The Pathologist, with expertise in Oncology and/or Molecular Pathology, will analyze and understand the laboratory and clinical aspect of high complexity tests, as offered by Caris Life Sciences, to provide up to date clinically relevant pathological diagnoses, interpret immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization tests, select areas of tumor for molecular analyses, and explain the clinical and pathological significance of his/her interpretations.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct pathologic examination of submitted specimens.
Evaluate adequacy of specimens for testing and make recommendations when limited specimen is available.
Provide interpretation of immunohistochemical (IHC) stains.
Provide interpretation of in-situ hybridization (ISH) stains.
Review batch and instrument quality control stains as needed.
Evaluate pathology specimens and render insightful and comprehensive diagnoses to enable clinicians to best treat their patients.
Review all elements of a tumor profiling and sign-out the report.
Consult with peer Pathologists on cases as requested or needed.
Participate in Quality Assurance programs, i.e., serve as reviewer for cases and participate in intradepartmental conferences to ensure and improve accuracy of diagnoses and quality of care.
May train and supervise pathology assistants, residents and fellows engaged in specialty training.
Follow established policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, safety, environmental, and/or control standards.
Promote and work to improve relationships with clinicians and the pathology community.
Assist with projects from Pharma Services.
Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
The Pathologist must be a M.D. or D.O. with AP or AP/CP Board certification (if candidate has more than 2 yrs. of experience) or Board eligibility.
Eligibility for licensure in Arizona and other states to satisfy needs of the national referral laboratory providing services across the USA.
Ability to provide the highest level of tumor profiling support for cancer patients and advancement of science of oncology.
Ability to learn internal software programs for diagnosis purposes.
Knowledge and experience using diagnostic equipment (microscope, computer).
Ability to communicate effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional subspecialty fellowship training (with Board eligibility or certification) in Molecular Pathology and/or other surgical pathology subspecialties is preferred but not required.
Additional advantage will be given to applicants with publications using immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, or molecular genetic testing methods particularly in cancer investigations.

Annual Hiring Range
$310,000 - $350,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
