PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $142,800.00-$174,400.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $111,000.00 - $206,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE :

As the Director of Mortgage Sales - Member Direct at BECU, you’ll be a pivotal leader in transforming how we serve our members through innovative mortgage solutions. You will guide multiple sales teams in both telephone and online channels, directly impacting our growth objectives. Your leadership will inspire loan officers and pre-qualification specialists, ensuring our virtual mortgage channels thrive while delivering exceptional member experiences. You’ll organize workflows and design processes that elevate quality, compliance, and overall efficiency, making a lasting difference in our mortgage sales strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO :

  • Drive Sales Strategy: You will develop and execute BECU’s mortgage sales plans, both internally and externally, to achieve ambitious growth targets while enhancing member satisfaction.

  • Lead Sales Management: You’ll design and coordinate the sales management processes for the Member Direct mortgage group, ensuring a seamless experience that balances production with quality and compliance.

  • Engage Members Effectively: You will plan and execute outbound outreach programs for current BECU members, creating opportunities that resonate with their needs and enhance their mortgage experience.

  • Build and Inspire Your Team: You’ll recruit, manage, and nurture a talented team of sales professionals, fostering an environment where they can thrive in originating and pre-qualifying mortgage loans.

  • Coach for Success: You will provide ongoing coaching and training to your team, conducting regular performance evaluations to encourage growth and high performance.

  • Enhance Product Knowledge: You’ll maintain an expert level of knowledge about all mortgage products and programs, ensuring your team is well-equipped to serve our members.

  • Ensure Compliance and Quality: You will oversee adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards, designing processes that optimize mortgage sales and improve member experiences.

  • Monitor Performance Metrics: You’ll prepare and analyze reports to monitor sales activities, providing insights that drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Leadership: You will partner with senior leadership to develop yearly operating plan projections, aligning strategies for maximum impact.

  • Cultivate Internal Partnerships: You’ll build productive relationships within the organization to increase mortgage referrals, enhance member experiences, and grow cross-sell opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration required, or equivalent education or work experience.

  • Minimum eight years of experience in mortgage originations/mortgage sales.

  • Experience with Washington State real estate market.

  • Compliance with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of experience leading mortgage sales teams; seven years of experience at top tier, financial services/institutions.

  • Experience in mortgage loan production/processing (including conventional, FHA and VA products).

  • Proficient verbal and written skills required to effectively communicate.

  • Highly developed mortgage sales, business development and relationship management skills including to internal partners, realtors and other referral partners.

  • Effective leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of Mortgage products and services, state and federal laws and regulations, and federal and state reporting requirements.

  • Thorough knowledge of sales channels including branch, call center, online and realtors, required.
