Who will be successful in this role

You’re a UX Designer II who thrives in fast-paced environments where the only constant is change. You handle ambiguity with grace by remaining laser-focused on the end user and their needs. You enjoy breaking down highly complex problems and building principles and systems to ensure they are solved consistently and holistically across product and platform.

You love to learn, solve challenges, and dream up breakthrough ideas. You’re a tireless advocate for the customer and enthusiastic about building and iterating on designs to discover what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products. You're passionate about learning the complexities at the intersection of customer, company, and data privacy in AI, and you want to work on projects that will define best practices that change the world for the better.  

You understand how to bring a team together to solve difficult product and customer problems, fixing what’s not quite right and smoothing the customer’s journey through the product. You to find ways to reduce complexity, remove the extraneous, and shorten the path to “Wow!”

Responsibilities

In this role as a UX Designer II you will design experiences with a broad charter that impacts consumer, enterprise, and education audiences. This will involve working closely with Copilot, Settings, and other partner AI product teams across Microsoft, which includes daily engagement with partner product managers, designers, researchers, engineers and leadership in all planning, development, and deployment of innovative and compliant product experiences. These solutions will allow customers to understand what data collection they are consenting to, educate them on how/where they can manage those decisions, actively build trust with customers as they use our AI-enhanced products, and align with all privacy global requirements as defined and interpreted by our regulatory teams.

You will be responsible for being the connection point between product teams across Windows and regulatory teams as you collaboratively design end-to-end product experiences. You will focus heavily on bringing regulatory clarity to all partners and using your creative design thinking skills to merge both UX and regulatory requirements within all AI-enhanced experiences to create the most highly crafted product experiences. You should be able to design powerful solutions whilst maintaining a focus on the customer’s holistic experience within the Windows platform.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Product Design IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
