Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

As Technical Program Management Team Leader on the Cloud Interconnection & Acquisitions (CI&A) Team you will contribute to building a world-class network infrastructure by working at a Program Management level to support Metro Dark Fiber, Long-Haul Fiber, subsea, and Lit Wave sourcing and delivery teams.

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. In this role within CO+I, you will perform a key role in supporting the delivery of the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services.

We're looking for an experienced leader that must be able support and influence Network infrastructure acquisition and delivery in a fast-paced production environment. As a qualified candidate, you must be agile and able to adapt to changing conditions and priorities. The successful candidate will need excellent technical, analytical, communication, people management and collaboration skills. You will be working with people from many different teams and backgrounds requiring an open mind-set. You must be able to influence others and work cross-functionally to achieve broad goals. Responsibilities

  • Leads team in partnering with Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA), Azure, and other teams in building detailed project plans, ensuring proper resource alignment, tracking of critical path tasks and projects and ensuring communications across all team as well as providing Executive level status reporting

  • Collaborates and coordinates across organizations to ensure alignment on work activities including tradeoffs, adjustments, and improvements as feasible.

  • Works with others to establish and monitor processes, and helps hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Helps track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Makes adjustments or course corrections when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.

  • Leads team to partner across the organization to capture performance metric requirements (e.g., Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] such as usage, quality, speed, and cost), to build out dashboards and reports

  • Ensure risks are captured, communicated, documented and remediate as appropriate.

  • This proficient individual will manage and lead a team charged with program managing critical network infrastructure sourcing and delivery activities.

  • Network infrastructure industry proficient person to provide leadership and direction to team of technical program managers on a large portfolio of Network projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years project or people management experience.

  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ years of experience leading IT technical programs in an Network Infrastructure based Cloud environment in a network acquisition and/or delivery capacity.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience in product/technical program management

  • 3+ years of People management experience

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Technical Program Management M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
