Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, ASIC/SOC FPGA validation in Redmond, Washington

Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Project Kuiper team is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager with experience in ASIC/SOC and FPGA development, project management, and program management. The role will interface with cross-functional engineering and program/product management teams to develop ASIC/SOCs and FPGA solutions that will go into Satellites and Ground equipment/terminals. Key job responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders (SOC / ASIC leads) to create project execution plans for ASIC/FPGA development considering all criteria to design products the meet the power/performance and functional specs for all use conditions.

  • Work with ASIC, communication system, EE, and software teams to define ASIC bring-up readiness and test plans.

  • Work with product/program management lead to ensure that ASIC/FPGA development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

  • Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.

  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, firmware, packaging and PCB teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.

  • Work with external IP and silicon vendors and partners to complete the execution of projects in time.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life

You must be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, SOC/IP design methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. In addition, the candidate needs to drive ASIC bring-up readiness (HW/SW) and ASIC bring-up plan. Lastly, the candidate should have the experience of working through the various design phases of Silicon development from architecture definition, RTL design, Verification, IP design, Physical design, post silicon design and bring up.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
