Job summaryProject Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.The networking team owns moving customer traffic across Kuiper system among space and terrestrial segments of Kuiper network. The team owns its quality by creating robust CI/CD systems to verify each commit. In this role, you will join the growing system validation team in designing the testing frameworks for verifying networking software both in simulation and on real devices. You will work hand in hand with development teams for software and hardware as well as program management and other stakeholders to make sure we can rapidly deliver high quality software.Key job responsibilitiesContribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity especially as it relates to rapid test iteration.Lead the charge to ensure our architecture is testable, performant, scalable, and extendableDesign and build advanced automated build, test and release infrastructure.Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainabilityAnalyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testabilityHelp design test fixtures for a lab to verify software on real hardwareContribute streamlined automated data for our engineering dashboards to allow our decisions to be data-drivenExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.A day in the lifeThe successful applicant will be experienced and highly committed to creating simulators and automation solutions, frameworks, and infrastructure. You will be invaluable to enabling the team to move quickly and confidently with robust verification frameworks that scale with our systems.About the teamThe Kuiper Networking System Test Team owns tools and software for verifying the quality of our networking equipment before release. This software will be operating both on the ground and in space. The System Test Team is essential to holding a high quality bar before our software reaches customers.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field7+ years experience in a large-scale software development environment, with major time designing and building automation framework, in either an SDE or an SDET role3+ years of experience developing automation in at least one of the languages - C/C++, Python or GO3+ years of experience in at least one of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools and testing frameworkTrack record of designing and building complex software systemsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organizationKnowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience in developing product test harnesses and instrumenting products to gather test resultsSolid understanding of QA tool development chains and environments, automation best practices, tools/technology and methodologyExperience with test dr
