The Puget Sound RE&F Team is looking for an energetic, passionate, analytical person to take on the role of Sr. Services Manager, Dining Operations.

You will work on innovative and high-impact business projects, working with our internal business partners, industry experts and strategic vendors to further foster innovation while delivering strategic leadership for the Puget Sound Dining program disciplines.

The role includes autonomous environment setting strategy, working on broad service procurement and directing complex dining services for Microsoft in the Puget Sound region. Dining services includes: food, beverage, catering, event planning and future design and construction of associated spaces. These businesses operate at significant scale, serving tens of thousands of Microsoft employees daily.

We are looking for a person who is up to the challenge of managing all aspects of these businesses from day to day management, long term strategic direction, budgeting, financial reporting, collaboration on redevelopment of east campus - setting strategy, influencing design while working with our employee base, executives, and our local communities.

Specific responsibilities include:

Business and operational management of all vendors both on-site and off-site

Proactively and independently creates complex business strategies, and apply them down, across, and up Microsoft.

Develop and manage annual operating expense budgets. Includes decision on areas of spend, accountability of actuals vs. forecasted and approval of all new out of scope expenses.

Financial responsibilities also include managing all capital dollar expenditures - justifications and implementations.

Develop new programs and dining models that meet Microsoft’s business needs along with customer requirements, while balancing the costs and meeting or exceeding organizational and corporate budget forecasts.

Create strategic alliances between internal customers, support organizations and vendors to facilitate the execution of the strategy and ensure all goals are achieved.

Build and maintain an effective network of new and existing suppliers, including identifying and establishing viable alternative sources of supply.

Designs and develops new programs and services to use vendors' complex capabilities across the program.

Prepare and execute RFP’s from the creation to contract, negotiate major contracts involving mission-critical and/or high value systems, services, or commodities.

Develop and administer policies, programs, plans, standards, and associated change management.

Develop relationships with business partners and clients as an RE&F Trusted Leader by providing subject matter insight and leadership to deliver successful outcomes for the company.

Build and maintain strong peer connections and alignment with other RE&F regions, Procurement, Legal, Finance and our Global Center Led teams.

Represent Microsoft and our services businesses in the industry and ensure we are fully leveraging and showcasing Microsoft products and technologies.


The successful candidate must have the following skill set:

Bachelor’s degree in food service/hospitality management, project management, finance or engineering and at minimum 7-10 years of post-college experience in areas directly relevant to responsibilities described above.

Supplier management experience (e.g. method of delivery, quality of service, pricing and reporting), financial analysis and budget processes, contract administration and proposal process, procurement principles, vendor quality and productivity criteria and best practices in the areas of implementation, information, and service provider relationships is a plus.

Proven financial and analytical experience.

Proven project, program, and entrepreneurial management experience.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills and proven capabilities effectively representing businesses and driving decisions with senior executives.

A proven ability to influence and collaborate across groups and build virtual teams.

Be self-motivated and directed and require minimal supervision.
