The Product Marketing Management organization has a great opportunity for a strong Sr. Product Marketing Manager who can drive the marketing efforts for Surface Hub and other innovative devices as Surface continues to grow and thrive in the commercial sector.
The mission of the Product Marketing Management organization is to help develop compelling product experiences and identify the right target audiences in close partnership with the engineering team. Then work with the greater go-to-market organization to ship these new products to the world. To do so, we focus on understanding the customer needs, market trends and product scenarios and translating those insights into innovative value propositions that delights our customers and earn fans around the world.
In this role, you will be working with a cross functional team of talented people who are developing the next wave of devices. You will lead key Product Marketing Management activities for Surface Hub and accessories. You will be in a high-pace environment that requires strategic thinking while rolling up your sleeves to get the job done.
Understand market sizing and trends of commercial and education categories and synthetize this information into actionable plans
Create competitive product analysis to understand the areas of opportunity for Microsoft
Help to define target audiences for commercial devices in partnership with the customer research and engineering teams
Develop differentiated product value propositions in close partnership with the engineering team
Develop rich customer listening systems and work closely with the engineering team to drive feature prioritization and scenario planning
Help define business models that support the product experiences and drive value to Microsoft
Effectively communicate the value proposition, target audiences and key product scenario to key stakeholders
Assess product gaps, working with engineering, planning, teams and propose mitigation plans
Partner closely with the Go-To-Market and Brand teams to share the new product strategy and ensure a successful product launch
5+ years of experience in product management or product marketing roles
2+ experience in the commercial channel is required
Self-starter who can manage through highly ambiguous situations in a start-up type of team
Experience working with engineering and customer research teams
Highly motivated and creative team player who thrives in collaborative environments.
Strong communication, project management and organizational skills. Solid business acumen with a keen sense of urgency
Able to pick up new concepts and technology rapidly; able to explain it to both business and engineering stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience is required, MBA preferred
