What you will do-

The Sourcing Lead will lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities with the goal of obtaining the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. 

They will be responsible for coordinating sourcing needs for new product development projects, including completion of supplier selection with agreement to Global Sourcing Strategy, regularly reporting material costs, managing schedules, and defining final material logistics.  Acts as liaison for all sourcing activities to Design and Advanced Operations teams.

Additional responsibilities of the Sourcing Lead include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Global Sourcing and purchasing controls requirements related to design projects

  • Negotiate supplier cost reductions and NRE reductions in conjunction w/ commodities teams when cost increases experienced

  • Drives key efficiencies w/ suppliers and communication tools support faster & more product launches

  • Identify process improvements to either supplier or Stryker processes to drive better speed to market, quality and long-term delivery

  • Builds engaging relationship with variety of R&D engineering teams

  • Lead sourcing analysis and selection process and perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required

  • Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans for new products

  • Drive request for quotes, order samples, prototypes, V&V, and productions parts

  • Manage bill of material for New Products

  • Support ERP set up, logistics, and tracking to target costs

What you need-

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or similar, required

  • 4 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier development, required

  • Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services

  • Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms and contract administration

  • Manufacturing management, manufacturing engineering, buying, production planning or new product development experience is preferred

  • Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience is highly preferred (e.g.: aerospace, automotive)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of new product development process

$75,300.00 - $156,900.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.About Stryker
