The PowerShell team continues to establish PowerShell script as the automation language for the public cloud. PowerShell is Open Source (via GitHub), cross-platform (Windows, Linux, and macOS), cross-cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), and both a scripting environment as well as an interactive shell. We continue to invest in PowerShell as a modern shell enabling customers to be more productive as well as a secure and capable script language used by millions of users daily.

Responsibilities

As PowerShell is an Open Source and cross-platform project, you will be involved with engaging directly with customers via GitHub issues and pull requests as well as actively participating in monthly community calls and community driven PowerShell conferences across North America, Europe, and Asia. In addition to PowerShell feature development, bug fixes, and test coverage, the PowerShell ecosystem includes a rich set of tooling that continues to be developed based on customer and partner feedback. For example, the PowerShell Visual Studio Code extension is heavily used as the premiere development environment for PowerShell script, PSScriptAnalzyer is leveraged by the VSCode extension as our canonical linting tool, as well as new scenarios like integrating machine learning with the shell.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent or 4+ years of experience as a commercial software engineer in Windows or Unix/Linux. (Required)

• Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software. (Required)

• Passion for delivering high performance, high scalable, and high reliability C/C++, C#, C or Java code (preferred)

• Experience with delivering and managing Services in Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS). (Preferred)

• Experience with OpenSSH or equivalent remoting technology

  • Technical passion, terrific problem-solving skills, drive for results, and ability to work independently.• Passion and proven track record with delivering high quality code and test coverage• Can-do, entrepreneurial attitude with experience working in a team with industry-leading, innovative, and high-quality product
