Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Team Overview

We’ve built a highly asynchronous, event driven, distributed microservices platform that plans the best possible delivery plan, automates the associated business and physical processes, and reacts in real-time to changes that impact delivery. To deliver on the customer promise of the infinite cloud, we’re looking for a Software Engineer II to push this architecture further into the following areas:

  • Enabling optimized matching of our hardware supply to our customer needs

  • Continuing automation of human operated tasks

  • Automatic prioritization of tasks and resource allocations

  • Advance change detection and self-healing

  • Early detection of issues and empowering business users to make quick and accurate decisions

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience in C++, C# or Java

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Problem solving, organization, and communication skills

  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field

  • Coding, debugging and problem-solving skills

  • Hands on experience building and maintaining REST microservices using NoSQL storage

  • Familiarity with distributed systems and event driven architectures

  • Great communication skills to collaborate cross-group and work effectively within the team

  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure and machine learning experience Experience in Supply Chain process

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
