The Authentication team within Identity division is looking for talented software engineers who can help us improve and expand our offering of cloud authentication services. We are a local group of supportive team players, working on critical and strategic projects involving high-performance design, coding, and optimization work in a fast-paced agile development environment. We regularly collaborate with other seasoned engineers across Microsoft while learning a ton and working on a variety of technologies. Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities include design and coding on a new cloud-scale distributed state store to manage sessions and helping build new front-end services for the v2 authentication endpoint. You would be writing managed code, on the .NET platform, using Azure technologies and deployed as Azure services. You would be contributing to add new capabilities and scale the core authentication service. Additional opportunities include: testing and debugging in production, big data analysis on service telemetry, threat modelling and penetration testing, experimentation at scale, and a lot of learning by being hands on with running a large scale critical cloud service.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience in software development and design

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline

  • Working experience in online services is a plus

  • Working knowledge of a modern programming language, C# preferred, but C/C++/Java acceptable.

  • Passion for reducing customer pain points

  • Willingness to communicate and collaborate both across a broader team

  • Good debugging and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with object oriented programming design paradigms
