Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington
The Identity team, part of Microsoft’s Experience + Devices organization, drives authentication infrastructure and product experiences across Microsoft’s productivity ecosystem. We deliver world-class experiences by unifying the sign-in and account management experience across major apps like Office, Edge, Teams and OneDrive, and we are on the front lines of enabling Microsoft’s Copilot experiences. Our work is directly utilized by over a billion users monthly, delivering innovation and modernization on an incredible scale.
If you obsess over technical details and want to solve some of the hardest problems in a core part of Microsoft’s product suite, then we are looking for a driven and execution-oriented Software Engineer II and we would love to meet you.
We want you to help us remove friction in the user experience fundamentals and use data to understand where opportunities exist. Our tech portfolio spans the entire Office identity stack on native platforms, the networking and configuration layer used by Office to communicate with all of its connected services, and a 1st party client authentication library that is used across Microsoft.

Responsibilities
Write code. You will architect and build security, identity, and collaboration features that ship to hundreds of millions of customers around the world.
Work across organizations and directly with partners both in Office and across Microsoft, including other engineers and product leaders.
Use data as the basis for decision making.
Grow as an engineer in a modern and highly-impactful team.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining complex client and web applications with a particular emphasis on the User Interface
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
