Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Sentinel is a scalable, cloud-native security information and event management that delivers an intelligent and comprehensive solution for security information and event management and security orchestration, automation, and response. We are looking to hire a Software Engineer II that will join our mission of protecting Microsoft Cloud by Integrating numerous sources of threat intelligence into Microsoft Sentinel to detect malicious activity and provide context to security investigators for informed response decisions. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of security at Microsoft and leveraging your insights to protect Microsoft services and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and customers to gather requirements, provide feedback, and deliver solutions.

  • Instrument data and develop metrics to measure usage, effectiveness, customer satisfaction and drive decision-making

  • Design and implement new components, features, and enhancements for identity management.

  • Debug and troubleshoot complex live site issues across a diverse network, compute and storage technology stack.

  • Write Engineering Documents such as Trouble Shooting Guide and Design Documents

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with building and maintaining distributed systems or microservices.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C# or Java

  • Experience with distributed systems and a cloud technology stack such as Azure or AWS

  • Working knowledge modern software development methodologies and tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.

  • Proficiency in computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
