We are looking to hire a Software Engineer II to join the Security Platform team who thrives in a bottoms-up, fast paced, highly technical environment. If you have a customer focus and understand the importance of Live Site, with a demonstrated ability to establish and manage relationships across organizational boundaries, and proven experience dealing with large scale data architecture, operational architecture and or network Architecture and proven experience creating distributed systems tools of moderate-to-high complexity, come join our team! The Security Platform team will be building cloud solutions meeting scales that few companies in the industry are required to support, that leverage state-of-the-art technologies to deliver holistic protection to a planet scale user base. The Security Platform team provides leadership, direction and accountability for application architecture, cloud design, infrastructures development and end to end implementation. You will independently determine and develop architectural approaches and Infrastructure solutions, conduct business reviews, and operate our production services. Collaboration skills will be required to work closely with other engineering teams to ensure services/systems are highly stable and performant and meet the expectations of internal and external customers and users.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • As a key developer on the platform team, responsible for building core services that enables fundamental features to delight our customers.

  • Empower customers to provision account, scans, explore, annotate and classify their data sets from catalog hosting millions of assets.

  • Embrace new tech and frameworks to build modern scalable and secure services that integrate with other partner Azure eco-system.

  • Work closely with product manager and designer on the requirements, leverage the inhouse/open-source components to meet the functional needs.

  • Enable telemetry to learn customer usage patterns and issues. Engage with beta customers to help try the feature and gather feedback for further improvements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: * *

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with one of the following three languages: C, C++ or C# AND

  • Two of the following: Cloud Development, Web Services; CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery). Coordination program development of computer applications/systems/services from design through product release; and Azure.

  • Two of the following three: Distributed Systems, Git or Unit Testing

  • Experience in both Data Stuctures and Algorithms

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.

  • Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

  • Experience creating and shipping V1 products using modern development practices.

  • Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).

  • Experience with Open-Source Big Data Stack such as Hadoop, HIVE, SPARK, HBASE etc.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
