Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Updating Windows and keeping our customers on the most current, secure versions of the operating system has never been more critical. To respond to customer needs, at the velocity and scale that Microsoft operates, we need highly resilient, always on, large scale systems to author, publish and release updates. This is where our team comes in.

We are building systems for the next generation of windows update delivery and releases – built on top of Azure technologies, running in Service Fabric. Our internal partners are Shiprooms, Release Management, Engineering Leaders and our external customers are Windows Consumers and Enterprises. We enable the tools, technologies, systems and services to release updates reliably, quickly and securely.


We are looking for engineers to help us deliver on our mission of building services and systems that are the heart and brain of the promise of continuous delivery across all versions of Windows that are out there. You will be working on designs, implementation, and will have the opportunity to influence technical direction and see your work come to life.


  • 6+ years of development experience in managed code working on all phases of a development cycle.

  • Experience building solutions and debugging with Azure technology (Service Fabric, Logic Apps, PaaS) and Continuous integration methodologies.

  • Experience with scale service architectures and technologies is a plus.

  • Experience building web service and restful designs are a plus.

  • Creative and innovative thinking.

  • Effective communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills required.

  • Ability and passion to pick up modern technologies and stay on the cutting edge of development

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
