Job Title: Software Design Engineer 2

Pay Range: $47/hr. - $50/hr.

Duration: 4 – 18 Months

Location: Remote

Job Description:

The primary responsibility of a Software Design Engineer is to conceptualize, develop, implement, and maintain business and computer applications software, encompassing mainframe, client/server applications, and substantial enhancements to existing systems. This role requires adept problem-solving skills, a strong background in programming, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience:

  1. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience deploying to Azure services.

  2. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience with programming languages such as C# and Python

  3. Minimum 3-4 years’ experience conducting in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and optimize complex software implementation projects.

  • Gather, analyze, and document system requirements, translating them into software solutions that fulfill client needs.

  • Review and assess enhancement requests and specifications.

  • Customize system software according to client requirements.

  • Develop detailed software specifications and test plans.

  • Code new programs and generate test data for thorough testing.

  • Update existing programs to meet current standards and conduct unit testing.

  • Create migration packages for system, user testing, and implementation phases.

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure software meets established standards.

  • Validate software post-implementation, addressing any bugs discovered during testing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience

  • Proficient in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing large-scale systems software.

  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and unit testing new and legacy production systems.

  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in problem diagnosis and resolution

Additional Preferences:

Strong subject matter expertise with a demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn.

Previous experience working at Microsoft.

Exceptional proficiency in deploying solutions on Azure platform.
