We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the team.

As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical projects from requirements through launch, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks and keeping processes running smoothly. 

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and implement features, infrastructure, processes, and workflows.

  • Drive the planning and execution of the pre-silicon and post-silicon FW development.

  • Driving architectural requirements derived from product planning into hardware and software teams.

  • Partnering with silicon development team to co-develop plans for silicon and development board bring-up.

  • Communicate with precision and clarity to drive alignment in both small and broad teams.

  • Effectively collaborate, build relationships, and influence cross-functional team members to achieve product perfection.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product developmento

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 2+ years of experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon firmware development.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product development.

  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 6+ years of experience in Systems design across all stages of the development and release cycles.

  • 6+ years of experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon firmware development.

  • Experience with hardware, firmware & software (system & application stack) interfaces across all modules in a system.

  • Knowledge about datacenters & operation at scale.

  • Knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
