Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Marketplace Platform Experience team in the Commerce & Ecosystem group owns the platform where partners both internal and external come to do business with Microsoft because it provides the most effective way for them to monetize and sell to the broadest set of customers.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to shape the future of Microsoft's Commercial Ingestion and Catalog Service. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our customers, partners, and internal stakeholders across various product groups to define the technical implementation for onboarding, gathering and persisting commercialization across first and third party businesses to enable their Go To Market through Microsoft's Commerce Marketplace. This role also provides opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration with stakeholders across Microsoft Cloud product groups, Design, Product Marketing, Business Operations, and other functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the technical capabilities of the Commerce Ingestion and Catalog Platform and the various underlying systems that they interact with

  • Demonstrate curiosity and strive for a data-driven approach to technical program management.

  • Collaborate with engineering and other stakeholders to design architecture and build a group of features or feature areas (e.g., product, service), with minimal guidance.

  • Define success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs], quality and performance measures) for the feature areas.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize, track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules (e.g., semester plans, milestones, timelines, releases) for a group of features or feature areas (e.g., product, service).

  • Monitor processes and hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects delivering large-scale software products or services.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, along with solid technical and functional design abilities.

  • Thrive in a team environment, capable of building and leading virtual team(s), establishing shared objectives and focused on achieving collective success.

  • Curiosity to understand the underlying mechanisms and willingness to delve into details when necessary.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
