Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the CO+I Critical Environment Service Intelligence (CESI) team, you will be responsible for help defining a comprehensive metric to talk about the health of the critical environment sensors that are used to support the data centers worldwide. You will partner with multiple CO+I teams to develop and deliver this solution.

Responsibilities
Partner with data engineering to research and develop a robust solution for validating site EPMS (Energy Performance Management System) and BAS (Building Automation System) data systems against cloud telemetry data. This involves collaborating closely with data engineers to design and implement validation protocols, ensuring data integrity and consistency between on-site systems and cloud-based telemetry. The goal is to enhance the accuracy and reliability of our data systems, enabling better decision-making and operational efficiency.
Define and develop a comprehensive metric to assess the health of our sensors. This includes evaluating sensor accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness, as well as identifying any potential issues or areas for improvement. When unhealthy sensors are identified, work collaboratively with relevant teams to push for resolution, ensuring that corrective actions are taken promptly. The goal is to ensure that our sensors are providing accurate and timely data to support our critical environment telemetry.
Foster effective communication by regularly updating stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and milestones. This includes preparing and delivering clear and concise reports, presentations, and documentation. Additionally, facilitate cross-functional collaboration by organizing and leading meetings, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years’ experience in engineering (ME, EE, PE), product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
OR equivalent experience.
1+ years experience reading blueprints, one-line drawings, and mapping complex dependencies.
2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
4+ years of experience demonstrating ability to build relationships and influence in a matrixed organization.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree AND 7+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis,
OR equivalent experience.
Understanding of Data schemas and how to map relationships across systems.
6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
6+ years of experience in Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with often rapidly changing or ambiguous requirements.
Excellent analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure and datacenter environments such as power, physical space, rack units, cooling, cable routing and management.
Extensive experience in program management methodologies, approaches, and tools (e.g. PMP/Six Sigma certification).
Proficiency in collaboration and communication tools and implementing structured file management systems within tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Loop, Microsoft Teams, and OneNote to keep teams efficiently working together.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
