The Experience Platform Commerce (XPC) team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager that is passionate about the end-to-end developer experience. Our mission in XPC is to bring game creators and players together by providing world class tools for:

  • Content marketing and discovery

  • Expanding game distribution and reach

  • Building Player engagement systems for in-game economies and user generated content

  • Innovating on existing business models

The ideal candidate will possess a solid technology and product management background. Your main area of focus will be game creator onboarding and player identity. In this role you will be responsible for defining and delivering integrated experiences and products for game developers across every platform in every region of the world. You will work with product managers, internal architects, and subject matter experts to understand the end-to-end scenarios typically faced by our customers, design solutions, and play a central role in bringing more games and game developers to the Microsoft platform. You will build a deep understanding of the experience of our developers today and design systems in collaboration with engineering teams that operate efficiently and at scale, catering to the needs of customers ranging from small independent developers to AAA titles.

Responsibilities

  • Driving and delivering features from ideation to launch. This includes understanding customer (internal and external) needs challenges, distilling those needs into clear, concise scenarios and requirements, and ensuring the successful rollout of features.  

  • Resolving complex problems that require alignment of cross-organizational strategy and securing commitment beyond your immediate team.

  • Developing and maintaining a long-term program roadmap in collaboration with technical subject matter experts, mitigating risks including technology shifts, industry or market constraints, and cost/pricing challenges​. 

  • Creating and maintaining internal and external product documentation and related artifacts to help drive customer adoption.  

  • Working with top-tier and passionate engineering, product, and technical teams to provide customer insights, product direction, inspiration, and project execution and release. 

  • Owning product metrics, indicators for success and reporting such as OKRs, executive reviews, and using them to provide strategic communication about your products.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in technical program management, technical project management, engineering, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience working in or with game development teams.

Additional and Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience working with game engines: UE4/5 or Unity.

  • Demonstrated collaboration and partnership abilities, with a proven track record of driving results across teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully designing, delivering, and iterating on complex projects with a diverse set of stakeholders.

  • Prior experience designing and developing cloud services on Azure or AWS at scale.  

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
