Microsoft Corporation Senior Supply Strategist in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft is looking for a motivated & inspiring leader to join the Reverse Supply/Demand Planning team within Surface Devices Supply Chain organization . Our team is responsible for driving end-to-end Reverse supply chain strategy and performance to enable the business to meet their objectives for Microsoft Surface Device Services (Post Sales Support – Warranty, Returns + Repair) on all Surface products, existing and future.

The Senior Supply Strategist will lead development and oversee execution of global supply positioning strategies across all stages of the product lifecycle, ensuring that inventory is positioned to deliver working capital, cost, and service goals. You will be working closely with Device Services Operations, Customer Experience and Offers, Finance, and various functions within Supply Chain to establish and manage the supply plan of record. Every day will be bringing a new challenge, and you will be continually looking for ways to drive business profitability by planning and executing a predictable, reliable, and low-cost supply chain.

The candidate will possess analytical capabilities, a deep supply chain knowledge, and a proven track record of improving business performance by driving cross-functional alignment and exerting influence in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own supply commitment (plan of record) to ensure the right product stock-keeping unit (sku) in the right place (geography, segment, channel) at the right time (cost, lifecycle) for Warranty Exchange and FRU (Field Replacement Units)

  • Own development and execution of supply fulfillment strategies to balance supply and demand optimally, balancing cost, service, and E&O (Excess + Obsolete) objectives

  • Leverage data analyses and channel insights to drive agile business decisions for operating models + fulfillment

  • Partner with key stakeholders to measure business performance to critical measures and metrics, identifying opportunities /risks and driving corrective actions

  • Drive policy decisions and executional plans to achieve line of business goals in a more scalable, standardized, low touch manner

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 4+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Deep experience in supply chain management, encompassing sourcing, planning, reverse supply chain and execution processes

  • Deep understanding of supply chain planning tools – SAP/IBP preferred

  • MBA in Finance or Supply Chain management a plus

  • APICS certification a plus

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
