Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

Network Hardware plans for global hardware for all network layers to enable customers connecting to Microsoft infrastructure. Planning includes network architecture & product transitions, and capital expenditure planning for supporting the business growth. The team collaborates closely with multiple functions is Azure Supply chain including Finance, Azure Networking Engineering Groups, and Cloud Operations + Innovation (C&OI) to meet the objectives. The Network Hardware team is seeking a Senior Supply Planning Manager to join their team. This individual contributor role is a critical function that will be the single point of contact for supply planning functions for all segments in Networking and will interface Capacity planning, Sourcing, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

This individual contributor role is a critical function that will be the single point of contact for developing and implementing inventory strategies that maximize efficiency, minimize inventory impacts, and ensure optimal customer service levels for all segments in Networking.

This role will interface with Capacity planning, Sourcing, Component Planning, Finance and 3rd Party Logistics teams. Few key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Develop and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance

  • Establish and monitor inventory performance metrics, such as standard week of supply, inventory turnover, service level, fill rate, and excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Manage metrics including days of supply, E&O, buffer and inventory health

  • Analyze inventory data and trends, and provide insights and recommendations for inventory optimization and improvement

  • Plan and oversee inventory forecasting, replenishment, and allocation processes, and ensure alignment with stakeholders

  • Manage inventory budget, inventory valuation, and projections

  • Evaluate and implement inventory management software and systems, and ensure data integrity and system integration

  • Develop dashboards to measure, monitor. and communicate inventory performance metrics

  • Lead business requirements and collaterals for the design, development and implementation of inventory management policies and systems to support increasing scale and complexity.

  • Drive development of tools and systems requirements for network inventory reporting and tracking

  • Be a critical conduit for Master data management team and be a data steward for inventory management

  • Partner to define inventory buffer targets (in conjunction with Component Planning) and strategies based on historical usage and forecast and define financial risk/liability associated with said buffers

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, inventory management or optimization, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Supply Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
