In the Azure Core team, we focus on building solutions that drive efficiencies in our backend development processes for the Azure Cloud. We aim to revolutionize how we can improve code quality and service reliability across the critical Azure service teams with our cutting-edge AI capabilities and Copilot solutions.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Azure Core, you will be building top-notch quality solutions in Azure, and will need to think outside to box to help our service teams assess risk in Pull Requests and deployments, as well as build tools to bring these assessments the right stakeholders across Azure. By leveraging existing backend solutions and building out new AI capabilities, you will find ways to improve quality in a much greater way than was ever possible in the past. Responsibilities

  • As a member of the team, you will use your social skills to collaborate with internal developers and service team leadership.

  • You will design, build, test, debug and help ship quality solutions that contribute to improving developer experiences and their code quality, while assessing issues or risks with Pull Requests and releases.

  • Build upon existing solutions to ensure Azure is the most reliable cloud for customers to build their solutions on.

  • Work with service teams to get feedback on proposed solutions the team builds, and implement the feedback in a timely manner.

  • Solve complex problems that allow for finding areas of efficiency and increase reliability to improve the code shipped in Azure.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years experience delivering quality software within a professional organization

  • 4 years programming in one or more of C#, C, C++, Java or Python

  • At least 1 year working with building solutions in Azure or similar clouds

  • Experience with AI technologies like OpenAI / GPT

  • Experience working with Azure Service

  • At least 4 years experience in cloud development

  • Experience in building and working in DevOps pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps (ADO)

  • 2 years programming with .NET Framework or .NET CORE

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
