Responsibilities

  • Design Cloud Solutions: Lead the design and development of advanced cloud solutions on Azure, enhancing our infrastructure to deliver high-quality services efficiently.

  • Manage Cross-Functional Projects: Spearhead key projects across Azure, from initial design through execution, significantly impacting our cloud service landscape.

  • Address Complex Challenges: Identify and resolve intricate technical problems, improving the foundational technology that supports Microsoft's services.

  • Drive Innovation and Efficiency: Innovate and refine our cloud architectures to boost performance, reduce costs, and elevate service delivery standards.

  • Collaborate and Mentor: Partner with diverse teams and mentor peers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and shared learning.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pytho

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirments:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software Systems Architecture: Awareness and understanding of modern software and systems architectures, including microservices, load-balancing, queueing, caching, and distributed systems failure modes.

  • Technical Leadership and Project Delivery: Proven leadership in designing, building, and troubleshooting complex software systems. Demonstrable ability to own and deliver software projects.

  • Mentorship: Ability to mentor peers and lead teams, promoting Agile development practices and challenging the status quo when necessary.

  • Platform Specific Skills: Experience with Linux, Containers, and Kubernetes.

  • Cloud and Security Expertise: Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Focus on implementing security and compliance measures in cloud environments according to industry best practices.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
