Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Security represents the most critical priorities for our customers in a world awash in digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all. We want to reshape security and empower every user, customer, and developer with a security cloud that protects them with end to end, simplified solutions. The Microsoft Security organization accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of inspiring excellence, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world.

Are you passionate about building cutting-edge technology to address critical security challenges in today's digital landscape? Do you want to lead and mentor a team as part of a greenfield project to build a scalable, high-performance data platform for security data? Join us at Microsoft Security and contribute to a mission that empowers users, customers, and developers with innovative solutions to secure digital technology platforms, devices, and multi-cloud environments. At Microsoft Security, we are committed to making the world a safer place by developing an end-to-end security cloud that simplifies and strengthens our customers' security postures. With ever-increasing threats, regulatory requirements, and estate complexity, organizations face daunting challenges managing and securing vast amounts of data across on-premises, multi-cloud, and SaaS environments. Our team is building a high-scale, exabyte-scale data platform to help enterprises: • Inventory and map their entire digital estate: From devices and users to permissions, data systems, and virtual machines, we help organizations discover and gain visibility into every asset. • Integrate and normalize data: By pre-integrating security data from disparate sources and standardizing it, we empower customers to store, retain, and use security logs more efficiently and affordably. • Answer critical security and governance questions: From identifying what systems exist and what's in them, to ensuring compliance with legal and corporate policies, we provide customers with insights and control over their security landscape. By leveraging an advanced security graph, built using AI and machine learning algorithms, we enable organizations to detect patterns, uncover threats, and make informed decisions about their digital estate's security posture in real time. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying this exabyte-scale platform that can process data across billions of streams, files, tables, and reports. Additionally, you will be expected to guide and mentor engineers, driving their features and projects from conception to delivery. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a highly collaborative environment, delivering a solution that makes security management accessible and actionable for organizations of all sizes.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
