The Business Applications and Platform International Engineering (BAP IE) group supports a wide range of Business Application products such as Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Commerce, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages to name a few, including all relevant copilots and generative AI features.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team on our journey to make Business Applications products and their copilots truly global.  

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advising on and testing the language quality of Large Language Model (LLM) features. Working closely with the product features teams, you will ensure that our product copilot implementations are world-ready, embodying the highest standards of linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity. Your contributions will directly influence the user experience, making our products more accessible and effective for global audiences.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic engineer who is passionate about the latest AI advancements, possesses a start-up mindset, embraces ambiguity, work independently and is willing to take on any challenge to bring Copilots truly international – design, coding, orchestration, prompt engineering, building automation pipelines, evangelism, and metric definition – to join our dynamic team.

  • Provide advice and/or working examples on making LLM features world-ready, including considerations for linguistic nuances, cultural sensitivity, and multilingual support. 

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and linguists to integrate language quality improvements into product development cycles. 

  • Design and execute comprehensive language quality tests to identify and address potential issues in LLM features before deployment. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and techniques in data science, machine learning, prompt engineering and automation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience in Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, including experience and skills with Azure Open AI services or equivalent 

  • Experience in shipping products and services, with a focus on world readiness and Internationalization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C, C++ or equivalent experience

  • Experience in Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, including experience and skills with Azure Open AI services or equivalent compete experience, Cognitive Services, Azure Prompt Flow, Prompt Engineering, LLM fine turning, and chaining technology and experience with implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

  • Demonstrated experience in shipping products and services, with focus on world readiness and Internationalization.

  • Experince in cross-group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthetize the complex and articulate solutions.  

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
