The Azure OpenSSH team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help make SSH the default remoting protocol for Windows and across Azure. This includes not only keeping the Windows fork updated, but also enabling new scenarios that leverage Windows and Azure technologies and enabling partners and customers to leverage SSH within their products.

Responsibilities

As OpenSSH is an Open Source project, you will be involved with engaging directly with customers via GitHub issues and pull requests as well as actively participating in monthly community calls. In addition, internally within Microsoft responsibilities include engaging with partner teams to understand their remoting scenarios and working to enable end-to-end scenarios which may include developing new features, engagement and integration across partner teams within Windows and Azure.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 5+ years of experience as a Senior software engineer in Windows or Unix/Linux. (Required)

  • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software. (Required)

  • Passion for delivering high performance, high scalable, and high reliability C/C++, C#, C or Java code (required)

  • Experience with OpenSSH or equivalent remoting technology (preferred)

  • Technical passion, terrific problem-solving skills, drive for results, and ability to work independently.

  • Passion and proven track record with delivering high quality code and test coverage

  • Can-do, entrepreneurial attitude with experience working in a team with industry-leading, innovative, and high-quality product

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
