Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Copilot Studio team within Conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer focused primarily on professional developer tooling and Software Development Kits (SDKs). You would help design, build, and maintain the products inside Copilot Studio and Conversational AI at Microsoft. This candidate will be highly profecient in DotNet, but have a sufficient working knowledge of, or eager to learn, Javascript and/or Python. This is a role where you would not just code, but rather help envision and implement ways to extend Copilot Studio with code, tools, or processes in ways a professional developer would expect.

Responsibilities

  • Drive modern software engineering practices through design and code reviews.

  • Design & implementation through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in .Net language and including JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experienced with DotNet or Javascript

  • Experienced in SDK creation and development

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in .Net language and including JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in .Net language and including JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated Computer Science fundamentals with a deep appreciation for the differences between platforms and environments.

  • Demonstrated technical design, architecture, problem solving, and debugging skills.

  • Experience in standing up and working with Build Tooling infrastructure and writing effective End to End/Integration/Unit Tests.

  • A track record of working collaboratively to understand customer and engineering needs to create solutions that positively impact our users.

  • 3+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services.

  • 1+ years of industry experience working on pro-developer tooling and SDKs

  • 1+ years of working in a high-scale SaaS or PaaS environment building and supporting hosted services.

  • Experience with conversational systems, building ML tooling or working with LLM’s, Voice Assistant skills, natural language processing concepts and fundamentals.

  • Working knowledge of C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.

  • A deep understanding of the needs of professional developers.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
