Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Sports team is looking for talented software development engineers to help build the next generation of sports experiences on Microsoft Start, Bing and other 1 st and 3 rd party products. You will have opportunities to work with many teams across Edge, Windows, Xbox, Bing and other divisions to develop innovative and exciting solutions for our users and partners. You will be involved in developing code in multiple layers including web UX, service end points, middle tier workflows, and data layers. You also will be using machine vision and ML to build engaging spectator experience both for on & off platform competitions. #WebXT

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining Sports UX components aggregating 1 st and 3rp party information and hosted on Windows, Edge, Bing, and other surfaces

  • Developing various end-to-end features to attract and engage users on Microsoft Start and other Microsoft sports landing pages

  • Work closely with our PM, design, and customer success teams to define feature specifications and build the next generation of products

Qualifications

The position requires strong technical background, leadership, project management, as well as other skills and experiences, such as:

Required qualifications

  • A minimum 6+ years of engineering experience owning feature design, development, releasing and sustaining

  • Experience with the following technologies: C#/Java or equivalent, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Familiarity with large scale service development, testing and deployment

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in CS, EE or equivalent

  • A demonstrated ability to ship high-quality software on time

  • Great problem solving and analytical skills with high intellectual horsepower

  • Solid communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to work closely and collaborate independently across a feature team

  • Ability to span across many areas while getting sufficiently deep in new focus areas where necessary

  • Passion for product excellence

  • Interest in sports is a nice bonus
