Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.
As part of the Cloud Supply Chain Sustainability team in Azure, we are at the heart of Microsoft’s cloud strategy. This new team is eager to deliver a sustainability platform for our customers & partners by combining science-based approach to climate change with good engineering culture of delivering platforms and services on Azure using the latest technologies in machine learning, the Internet of Things.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering sustainability data platform that spans structured, unstructured data from heterogenous sources, analytics, insights and recommendations on Azure-hosted cloud services and mobile devices with enterprise scale and security that organizations have come to expect from Microsoft.

Sustainability is a dynamic domain. From fast evolving new features to long-term architecture investments, you will be responsible for shipping healthy, performant, reliable and delightful experiences to customers.Some of your responsibilities will be to:
Collaborate with team members on every detail of design, implementation, validation and monitoring of feature usage and health for the various services owned by the team.
You will have the opportunity to advance engineering excellence by driving design discussions, contributing to code reviews and participating in knowledge sharing sessions.
Mentoring junior engineers, recommending new technologies that can help productivity.

Required/Minimum Qualifications :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
6+ years of software development in cloud services at internet scale with full understanding of all aspects of the software development process.
Ability to drive initiatives across multiple service teams and across disciplines.
Experience translating business and legal requirements to precise technical requirements is a plus.
Organization and demonstrated ability to lead cross team efforts.
Customer obsessed and inclined towards product quality, and service excellence.
Working experience in areas related to sustainability and some programming experience with Generative AI is a plus.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
