Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft News & Feeds team is looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join the Community and Growth team. The team is working on the frontier of transforming the News & Feeds product to a user and contributor centric experience, by building a vastly connected network of users and content creators, as well as driving sustained user and engagement growth via social mechanics. We are a full stack team with the end-to-end expertise to power through the full product development cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in design, implementation, and execution across a variety of features

  • Develop frontend website architecture, layout and user interactions on web pages

  • Develop efficient and scalable backend services, platforms and pipelines

  • Design and develop flexible and extensible APIs

  • Integrate data from various backend services and databases

  • Gather and refine functional and technical specifications based on product needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • 3+ years of experience with C#/C++/Java/Python/Scala or any other OOP languages

  • 2+ years of experience in web development, backend API/service/system development, database and data pipeline development and/or related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading the development of web-based experiences with significant complexity and/or the development of highly scalable and performant backend services and systems.

  • Experience leading full stack development including both frontend and backend components.

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, Automation, Physics, or other engineering or science fields
