We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our Sovereign Cloud Security (SCS) team supporting Microsofts Air-Gapped Clouds. Our teamprovidesleadership, direction, and accountability for cloud design, service architecture, engineering infrastructure, and data platformdevelopment. You will help develop the tools used to support initiatives intended to raise the engineering bar across SCS.Collaboration skills will be required to build and maintain cross organizational tools, uncover latent pain points and seek cross-team solutions.
We are looking for highly motivated and hands-on candidates to join a fast-paced team solving complex security and systems focused problems in the sovereign cloud security space.You will work closely with Azure Security engineering teams, product managers, internal security customers, and data scientists leveraging the best platforms that Microsoft has to offer.

Envision, design, write and deliver software and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability, latency, operability, and efficiency of Azure security services.
Solve problems relating to mission critical services and create solutions to prevent problem recurrence, with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
