MCIO is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Site Selection and Acquisition (SSA) is a division of Cloud Infrastructure, Strategy, and Architecture under MCIO. SSA is responsible for site selection activities and lease negotiations for location of new data centers worldwide. In addition, the team has a charter to aggressively expand its pre-positioning strategy on land and leases. SSA’s work includes detailed investigations of countries, states, cities and sites in all major geographic regions to determine the optimal land, utilities, taxes and incentives to drive the site selection/ lease process.

Responsibilities

  • Operations Optimization: Reviews current operations procedures and refines for efficiency.

  • Customer and Market Insight: Evaluates data sources and research methods for use across the team.

  • Product Vision: Ensures that feature areas deliver the expected value to the customer and business objectives to Microsoft.

  • This position will work with a team of existing professionals and multiple vendors to data center portfolio management in a cost-effective and timely manner.

  • Refines practices/policies and develops methods/techniques for driving solutions.

  • Experience successfully managing in a matrixed organizationAbility to consult, motivate and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, contractors to take desired action.

  • Provides input to long-term delivery strategy and incorporates requirements into the project execution plans.

  • Demonstration of success will be evident in the successful partnering with Azure and, ultimately, the speed by which deals are executed

  • Experience with disposition and original/creative deal structure

Qualifications

12+ years combined experience with the following: real estate acquisition and leasing

•10+ real estate leasing and operations

•Expertise in real estate acquisition and leasing

• A degree in Real Estate, Planning, Land Use Development, Finance, Accounting, Economics and Engineering

• PowerPoint proficiency

•Demonstrated advance negotiation skills

•Demonstrate advance ability to successfully operate in a matrix base organization
