Responsibilities

As customers continue their journey to the cloud, we are all responsible for inspiring customer loyalty and trust when running workloads in Azure. The Senior Program Manager (Sr. PM) will be responsible for understanding the competitive landscape, identifying strategic workloads that need additional research and partnering with our world class researchers to help shape technical content within the 44 research papers that are delivered every year.

You will be working with various internal stakeholders including Customer Support Leadership, Customer Experience representatives, Field representatives, Azure Engineering, and more. We don’t see other teams as different organizations but as part of our extended team working together to deliver great experiences to our customers while upholding Microsoft’s business values.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of multiple cloud providers, with Azure experience in working across with complex, highly available systems, with a deep understanding of the underlying components (Azure Platform, commerce, billing, subscription management), and an ability to collaborate effectively with our Field and Engineering partner organizations.

The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Technology Understanding & Customer Empathy - Understand customer needs and pain points to achieve their business outcomes within their constraints

  • Strategic Project Execution - Own CXP interactions in the product planning process, actively drive towards customer-focused results whilst ensuring readiness for key milestones

  • Measure success of the program by Identifying & driving relevant metrics and OKRs

  • Engineering Partnerships – partner closely with Azure Engineering teamsto drive outstanding customer results into our products and services

  • Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management skills that drive and effectively manage multiple complex communication plans with executive visibility and many critical dependencies

  • Improve Customer experience by analyzing data & signals not only for investigations but to help make strategic decisions signals from various sources in nebulous situations

  • Identify tooling, product, and process gaps to iteratively drive improvement back into the core product and reporting tools.

  • Understand the competitive landscape to provideinsights that help increase the richness of the research papers.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of consulting, product management or engineering job experience, including 3+ of industry experience around cloud services/platforms.

  • S kills building and deploying applications or solutions on GCP, AWS or Azure

  • Excellent Communication : Demonstrated ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences (customer, internal Microsoft stakeholders, and third-party vendors), orally and in-writing, in an easily understood manner

  • Customer Obsession : Passion for customers and focus on delivering the right customer experience

  • Growth Mindset : Openness and ability to learn new skills and technologies in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Open-Source experience including contributing to or building with Open-Source technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Hadoop, etc.)

  • Technical Skills : Demonstratedhands on experience in one or more of the following:

  • Containers or other Micro-service architectures

  • Azure, AWS, or GCP PaaS Services

  • Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, Python, bash)
