Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager, Surface Experiences in Redmond, Washington

Are you passionate about new devices and new experiences? The Surface Experiences team is defining the next generation of product experiences across the Surface portfolio. We collaborate with hardware and software engineers, designers, user researchers, and product marketers across Microsoft to develop new products that empower everyone on the planet to achieve more.

We’re looking for an experienced Program Manager who will craft and drive end-to-end hardware, software, and service-backed experiences. The exceptional candidate has the right skills to empathize with a diverse customer audience, brainstorm and define products and experiences, and apply internal and external feedback to prototype and iterate on different experience paths.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive development of customer-centered experiences combining software and hardware, working in close collaboration with design and engineering in Surface and other groups across Microsoft.

  • Drive product definition, product plans, roadmap, decisions and program execution

  • Create product plans and specifications, integrating customer, design, engineering, and business perspectives.

  • Visualize and story-tell end-to-end scenario walkthroughs for concepts and features.

  • Organize, present, and evangelize the experience area across engineering, business, and senior leadership.

  • Drive actionable analysis about customers, applying a range of research and usage data.

  • Evaluate the opportunity for new products, based on strategic analysis of technology, competitors, and product categories.

Qualifications

  • At least 6+ years of experience in consumer software and/or hardware, in program management, product management, and/or product planning, with a steady progression of taking on assignments with increasing responsibility and impact.

  • Outstanding track record of achieving results in a matrixed environment, working collaboratively across boundaries and influencing other teams.

  • Deep empathy for customers and experience in analyzing and applying customer research.

  • Creative thinker who can identify opportunities for new product experiences and develop plans to succeed with those opportunities.

  • Able to thrive in ambiguous situations, bringing clarity, setting priorities, and converting ideas into action.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • BA/BS degree required.
