Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Marketing Manager- Java on Azure in Redmond, Washington

The Azure Product Marketing team is looking for a Java and open source subject matter expert who can shape, drive, and coordinate Azure’s overall Java strategy and results from multiple angles – product and business priorities, product launches, go-to-market planning, messaging and awareness. This role is a critical player in Azure’s business strategy of increasing Java customer acquisition and open source workloads on Azure.

The ideal candidate thrives when faced with new challenges, must be comfortable with a very high visibility position that will help shape the future of Java on Azure and has the willingness to ‘own the business’ from a broad perspective. You should have a strong track record of driving results in a fast-changing environment and proven success collaborating across teams. Additionally, you should have experience bringing technology to market, operating with at-scale engines, working with diverse teams – field marketing, sales, engineering etc., building messaging, assessing results of marketing activities, building competitive product and market insights, and materials to guide the business direction and support field teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Product . Bring customer, field and partners insights into the Java on Azure roadmap planning. Partner with engineering on defining the top customer scenarios to support Java applications on Azure.

  • Go-to-Market . Define the go-to-market (GTM) strategy, create marketing collateral, and lead execution to ensure the rollout of services and capabilities is thoughtful and planned. You’ll be orchestrating others as well as rolling up your sleeves to create content, demos etc. etc.

  • Messaging . From product narratives, to key messages, to blog posts, and more, you will define and play a significant role in telling the Java on Azure story through field, partner and digital channels, and shape the dialogue we have externally.

  • Evangelism . You will engage and win-over influencers with product advocacy and evangelism. You will present and demo to key customers, partners, analysts and the press.

Qualifications

Successful Candidate Competencies:

  • Outstanding communications skills with a comfort level in executive level presentations Collaboration . Exceptional collaborator who can own and drive multi-faceted product management and marketing challenges

  • Strong understanding of the Java ecosystem – Spring, Java EE, Jakarta EE etc.

  • Influencing Others . Ability to move others across organizational boundaries to a desired business outcome when there is no clear “ownership” of issues

  • Strategic thinking . Ability to analyze and diagnose complex product and business challenges, formulate solutions, and then motivate the broader organization to action

  • Customer Focus . Proven experience driving effective marketing based on a deep understanding of customer needs

  • Story Telling . Demonstrated ability to create narratives that are targeted to different customer segments, delivering clear outcomes and a call to action

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, business planning, developer marketing or similar positions for a technology product/service

  • BS/BA degree, MBA or equivalent experience preferred
