Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is passionate about solving large business optimization problems at scale and help develop a new class of services and automation techniques to innovate how Microsoft manages Cloud capacity. Responsibilities

  • Work across the enterprise to define new business models and then collaborate to land the processes and systems to enable those new business models.

  • Document the business and engineering requirements for cloud infrastructure capacity planning and management.

  • Drive technical discussions to create a scalable, highly available systems to automate capacity planning.

  • Define templates, best practices, and automated quality gates necessary to ensure consistent implementation of components across team.

  • Contribute to and drive architecture, design reviews for selected components.

  • Drive execution and demonstrate end to end ownership of complex, technical projects to successful completion.

  • Identify, drive and evangelize latest technology and industry trends, development patterns and software methodologies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development or software engineering

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience of Public Cloud

Other Requirements :

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening reqirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in distributed services, with large scale data collection, aggregation and analysis; supply chain

  • Demonstrated ability to crystalize customer requirements into efficient designs

  • Proven track record of designing complex, scalable and reliable services end to end

  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and industry trends

  • Supply chain experience preferred

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
