Microsoft Corporation Senior ML Engineer/Applied Scientist in Redmond, Washington

The Dynamics Fraud Protection (DFP) team is a part of the Dynamics Product Group in Business Applications Group. The team has developed a fraud detection service for external customers based on the idea of a ‘consortium’. We are now extending this idea of a consortium to other exciting business application like Supply Chain. The COVID19 experience has laid bare the inadequacies of modern supply chains and the need for them to be reengineered not just for efficiency but also for agility and resiliency.

We are looking for a passionate, innovative, and driven Senior ML Engineer/Applied Scientist with a strong background in machine/deep learning and experience building ML pipelines that operate at scale to help us build a world class supply chain visibility product. As a Senior ML Engineer/Applied Scientist in DFP you will collaborate with a seasoned team of Applied Scientists, ML Engineers and partner with teams and researchers in Microsoft and academia working in the supply chain area to build an industry leading offering.

  • Design and develop infrastructure/pipelines to support ML/AI that operate at scale.

  • Design and implement production ready ML models using current ML/Deep learning techniques.

  • Collaborate closely with other Engineering teams to build highly distributed and scalable service.

  • Independently investigate new technologies, prototype, and test options for service enhancements.

  • Mentor less experienced members of the team



  • 6+ years of industry experience building web services at scale.

  • 3+ years of experience in building ML/deep learning pipelines and models.


  • Degree in Computer science or other quantitative disciplines with strong knowledge of ML

  • Strong skills in Python and C#/C++/Java and reasonable SQL understanding.

  • Experience with Deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow, PyTorch etc. and Big data technologies like COSMOS/SCOPE, Hadoop/Hive, Databricks etc.

  • Prior experience in using reinforcement learning/ supply chain/operations research/optimization area a plus.

  • PhD a plus
