What You'll Do

Lead teams to develop and execute project plans for distributing system and inventory control projects in a complex, vertically integrated manufacturing environment.

Develop and execute project plans for materials ordering, receiving, storage for new product, and production system.

Establish pull-signalling system .

Design and specify stores.

Support product design process.

Implement visual controls.

Track project progress and report gaps & opportunities.

Prepare new system for ERP implementation.

Identify opportunities to positively affect Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale.

Participate and lead kaizen events.

Support and lead problem-solving and reporting efforts when materials issues arise.

Develop and maintain materials and information flows (value stream maps).

Layout planning, Ramp up/down planning.

Reviews and establishes new operating procedures, performance standards/metrics/methods.

Conducts Supply Chain and/or inventory analysis.

Redesigns and/or reengineers logistics processes.

What You'll Need

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering/Business/Supply Chain

  • 2+ years developing and implementing material distribution & control processes

  • 3-5 years of industrial/manufacturing/process engineering or production/inventory control

  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution/warehousing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS)

  • RFID or barcode technology experience preferred

  • Implementation experience a plus

  • Pull system implementation and management

  • Experience with Kaizen process

  • 2+ years leading small to medium sized projects

  • Cost justification/ROI

  • Experience with lean tools, including: A3 reporting, 5-whys, 5s

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, VBA/SQL is a plus

  • Capable of identifying critical paths and executing possible changes on a weekly basis

  • Proactive and ambitious individual with the ability to create and execute action items to include items that may not be on the Gantt Chard or “to do” list

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, email, etc.)

  • Ability to work well under pressure with accuracy and follow-up on mistakes, if applicable, to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Effective peer relationship building

  • Self-motivated

  • Process mapping

  • Kanban implementation

  • Working knowledge of quality control. Should recognize quality control points in materials processes and be able to develop and implement robust quality guarantees at those points

  • Safety tools, including: safety mindset, ergonomics training, etc.
