We are hiring a Senior Hardware Manufacturing Program Manager.

The Hardware Manufacturing Progrm Management Group (HMPM) is a team that collaborates with Microsoft’s suppliers, engineering design teams, business managers, and supply chain managers to ensure that the newest hardware that powers Microsoft’s cloud services is available to our customers on-time and at the highest levels of quality. A critical function in this work ensures the newest hardware developed by Microsoft is built at our supplier’s factories with efficiency, safety, and at the highest levels of quality. HMPM also ensures that our suppliers empower our customers by delivering this hardware and being agile and creative to work through the challenges of new product introduction.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and operational leadership across NPI efforts and manufacturing through the different phases of the product development lifecycle in a fast pace and complex environment.

  • Forge strong partnership and influence cross functional team members; maintain NPI relationships with external partners.

  • Maintain ownership of the manufacturing processes while having a thorough understanding of the program from concept to dock.

  • Manage technical hardware programs from requirements to launch, including project schedules, identifying risks and mitigation, removing roadblocks, and ensuring smooth processes.

  • Communicate program plans and status with management and team members, tailoring the message to the audience.

  • Navigate and lead others through complex technical challenges and business issues to deliver impactful results.

  • Bias for action and a self-starter including driving process improvements that support efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 2+ years’ experience working in manufacturing, operations, engineering, product and program management.

Other Requirements :

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering: Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or any related engineering degree AND 8+ years’ experience in program management of hardware development and manufacturing.

  • 6+ years’ experience working in manufacturing, operations, engineering, product and program management.

  • Manufacturing and engineering experience with servers supporting zero lag programs.

  • Experience in global supplier relationship and performance management.

  • PMP, Six Sigma or Lean certifications

  • Ability to travel up to 25% each year.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
