Microsoft Corporation Senior Hardware Architect in Redmond, Washington
Microsoft Azure is one of the largest fleets of computing systems in the world, comprising millions of heterogeneous servers across hundreds of globally distributed data centers.
We are looking for a Hardware Architect to develop and architect end-to-end flows in the domain of Memory, Fabric (on-chip interconnects) & Coherency for next generation Azure Hardware. This person will drive Silicon and System Architecture definition, develop full-stack architecture specification and work with Silicon and platform partners to drive implementation of the feature across the entire vertical stack (Si, FW, SW, Platform etc.). We are looking for individuals who can look at the solution space from a broader system perspective and ensure that the solutions we develop are robust, performant and forward-looking.
Drive Architecture development of next generation of Azure System HW
Collaborate with technical stakeholders across partner engineering organizations (Silicon, Platform HW, OS/Hyper-V, fleet-management software, 1st Party Application developers etc.) to develop full-stack solutions for Azure Server Systems in the domain of Memory, Fabric & Coherency
MS or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent)
3+ years of experience in Server CPU and/or Platform product development with demonstrated track record of success
Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions in support of memory, network-on-chip, and coherency flows
Familiarity with System level flows (Reset, Power Management, Security etc.)
Familiarity with IO technologies such as PCIe & CXL is preferred
Familiarity with ARM v8+ ISA is preferred
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
