Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Project Kuiper in Redmond, Washington

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, is interested in analyzing new business opportunities, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions to business questions.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial by nature, a strategic thinker, analytical in approach, have a demonstrated ability to develop financial models that provide intelligence for business decisions and able to leverage their project management skills to drive business objectives. This role requires a self-starter with superb business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a track record of being an advisor to the business. The candidate must have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies (including statistical concepts) while dealing with big data and be able to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and implement financial and operating performance metrics, identifying key call outs and drivers to senior management

  • Develop financial benchmarking analysis of key competitors

  • Maintain long range financial models to project and evaluate business performance against key goals and metrics

  • Create and implement revenue and cost models to be incorporated into business reviews

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
