Microsoft Corporation Senior Finance Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Technical Finance Team is part of a broader team that provides key insights that help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. We are at the hub of Microsoft’s financial activities, being a key strategic partner to all sides of the business and serving a diverse set of stakeholders: Board of Directors, Wall Street analysts and shareholders, the Senior Leadership Team, executive staff, finance leadership, and functional teams across the company (Corporate Strategy and central teams).

The Technical Finance Team is responsible for consolidating financial insights which span the entire company, supporting diverse financial analyses for our most upper-level leaders. Examples include business performance metrics, forward-looking guidance, extended long-range planning, corporate structure, cash flow reporting and analysis, foreign exchange, and market/compete. This Senior Finance Manager will lead cash flow innovation, drive special projects, and coach others on the team across all pillars. The person in this role will learn executive perspective and contribute to company-wide impact, while gaining CFO skills that are difficult to get anywhere else.

Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted partnerships across diverse teams such as Engineering, Corporate Strategy, Tax, Accounting, and Finance;

  • Simplify complex details to support leadership decision-making;

  • Coach and develop others on the team;

  • Manage change and drive opportunities for efficiency and automation across financial rhythms of business (ROB);

  • Successful execution of time-sensitive and high-pressure deliverables, demonstrating a growth and ownership mindset;

  • Demonstrate attention to detail in financial modeling, reporting, and presentations;

  • Apply judgment and manage multiple workstreams to create clarity in ambiguous scenarios.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cross-group collaboration and business partnering skills including interpersonal skills, conflict/negotiation management, ability to influence results

  • Written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple groups, responsive with customer service orientation

  • Demonstrated strength in process and project management

  • Detail oriented & thorough, with the ability to think “big picture”

  • Analytical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects/priorities, excel in an ambiguous environment, and reprioritize as necessary to align with current business objectives

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform skills preferred (ie: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)

  • Familiarity / experience with core Microsoft financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting processes preferred

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
